A Magical Arctic Christmas Collection
It’s feeling very chilly here in England at the moment due to Arctic air visiting much earlier than usual. So it feels like the perfect time to show you my latest Christmas collection ‘Crystal Kingdom’ Those of you who’ve been around here for a while might think ‘that sounds familiar’ and you’d be right because I have been selling a wrapping paper from the collection for a while now. The design called ‘Arctic Guardians’ has been very popular and it features a majestic stag and two swooping Arctic owls in a snowy crystal kingdom. The Crystal Kingdom is a magical land where the Arctic Guardians live and whose sole job is to protect the life crystals which bring balance and harmony to their world. Other Arctic Animal Guardians swooped and galloped through my mind especially on cool winter days so I sketched and painted and brought them to life to adorn a set of Christmas cards and wrapping paper. I hope you feel the magic I felt when creating this precious kingdom and it captures your imagination too✨
To add that extra bit of magic I hand foil-stamped the gold greetings on the cards. The cards are A6, printed here in the UK on premium 350gsm FSC certified card and blank inside for your own message. Each comes with a recycled off-white textured envelope and there are four card designs in all and are available to purchase individually or as a set. The above design features the original Arctic Guardians; the Owls and Stag and the greeting reads MERRY CHRISTMAS. If you are interested in purchasing; just click on the photos to be taken to the shop.
This is probably my favourite design in the collection as I fell in love with the baby polar bear. When I draw animals I will often watch videos of them to see how they move and behave. I probably watched an unnecessary amount of videos of baby polar bears because they were just so cute.
I really enjoyed researching the animals which inhabit the Arctic and was in particular amazed by the sheer speed Arctic Hares can run; up to 40mph! They also often run in a zig zag pattern to avoid predators. I was also surprised to find out how much smaller Arctic foxes are compared to Red Foxes.
This design is called ‘Starry Nights’ as I thought the glowing white guardians looked beautiful against a starry midnight sky.
The final card ‘Bringing Sparkle’ features a graceful Snow Goose and an Arctic Tern carrying crystals to adorn the grand Christmas Tree. I always enjoy drawing birds so this was a lovely treat.
To finish the collection I added another wrapping paper design to compliment the previous design. All the other Arctic Guardians feature together on a starry night. It has a lovely celestial feel so am sure it could be used for other occasions other than Christmas.
Well I hope you enjoyed the insight into the creation of the CRYSTAL KINGDOM collection. You can purchase it from my shop here or if you are an overseas customer you can purchase from my Etsy Shop.
Take care, Cassandra xx
